Samudra Ayu is a product tanker measuring 103.97 meters in length with a gross tonnage of 29,867. Built in China in 2012, she was originally engaged in domestic trading within Chinese waters, serving as a reliable carrier for various refined oil products.

In March 2025, Equinox Shipping Group acquired the vessel as part of its strategic fleet expansion plan, aimed at strengthening its operations in the Indonesian domestic tanker market.

Following the acquisition, Samudra Ayu was directed to Batam, Indonesia, to undergo a comprehensive program of refurbishment, modification, and maintenance.

The vessel successfully completed her reflagging and reclassification process, officially joining the Indonesian registry under Equinox’s management, aligning her performance with the company’s commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence .

After completing all works and inspections, Samudra Ayu commenced trading in the Indonesian domestic market in September 2025 , transporting a range of oil and refined petroleum products between key ports across the archipelago.
